[[We see a close-up exterior view of the HMS Bounty as a small shuttle zooms out of the shuttle bay.]]
Colonel Lionel Barker: [Inside the shuttle] There. We've cleared the bay doors. In a few minutes, we'll be clear of the fleet and free to enter hyperspace.

[[Our view moves inside the shuttle, where Colonel Barker mans the controls in the foreground. Behind him, Victor Brown, still in his alien "handcuffs", continues to hold Nick in a headlock.]]
Nick: Colonel, please... it doesn't have to be like this...
Brown: [Grinning madly] Listen to him beg! Once we hit light speed, I am SO going to finish you off!

Barker: [Turning around] That won't be necessary, Victor.
[[Barker presses a button on the control panel, and a wall of shimmering light forms between him and the other two men.]]
Brown: [Confused] What the...? What are you doing, Lionel?

Nick: [Darkly] He's erecting a force field.
Barker: [Smirking] Yes, so when I open the side door, the two of you will be blown out into space, while I will remain safely here, on the other side.
[[Brown is taken aback by the sudden betrayal.]]
